MyWay data from light rail will be able to be used in criminal investigations
The Australian Federal Police will be able to track the movement of suspects on Canberra’s light rail system without a warrant in the same way investigators currently do with ACT buses.
Law enforcement agencies have been able to request data retained on MyWay cards since 2010, although have done so less than 70 times since the scheme was introduced.
