A resident of aged care shouldn’t need to surrender their human rights
Here is something that upsets me. A lot.
When a person’s lack of physical independence tips them, at great personal financial and emotional cost, into an aged care home, they do not just give up their home.

They also give up their personhood. It’s like magic.
They walk into the place, which is just meant to be the new address at which they reside, and as they cross the threshold, miraculously they somehow transform into a new entity.
