One world united through truth, harmony and culture.
The timeless values of Orthodoxy and Greek culture as a response to extremism, division and the misuse of religion and identity.
Η Φωνή της Οικουμένης στην Καρδιά του Ελληνισμού

The recent historic speech of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Hellenic Parliament carried an important and timeless message for modern society.
At a time when religion, national identity and tradition are often misunderstood or misused to promote division, intolerance and extremism, the Patriarch spoke with a message of peace, unity and humanity.
He explained that religion should never be used to create hatred or conflict. Instead, faith should bring people closer together, encourage dialogue and protect human dignity. According to the Patriarch, the true mission of Orthodoxy is to support love, solidarity and peaceful coexistence among people and nations.
At the same time, the speech highlighted the universal importance of Greek civilization. Greek culture has always been connected with democracy, philosophy, moderation and humanism. Throughout history, Hellenism was not based on isolation or hatred towards others, but on communication, openness and the exchange of ideas. These values continue to influence and inspire the modern world today.
The Ecumenical Patriarch also underlined the important role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate as a spiritual institution with a global mission. For centuries, it has acted as a bridge between peoples, cultures and religions, promoting understanding, reconciliation and peace instead of conflict and division.
Special attention was also given to the protection of democracy and freedom against fanaticism, political extremism and social polarization. In today’s world, public debate is often dominated by anger, exaggeration and superficial slogans that weaken social unity and meaningful dialogue. The Patriarch reminded everyone that societies can only move forward through mutual respect, balance and cooperation.
The speech clearly showed that religion and culture, when expressed with sincerity and wisdom, should unite people rather than divide them. They should encourage respect, solidarity and harmony instead of violence and intolerance. This was the central message of the Patriarch’s historic address to the Greek Parliament.
In a world facing uncertainty, conflicts and moral confusion, these universal messages are more important than ever. Humanity needs to return to the fundamental values of human dignity, spirituality, peace and cultural balance.
Through his speech, the Ecumenical Patriarch reminded the world that the real strength of faith and civilization lies in their ability to inspire unity, hope and harmony for all humanity.
