What is the significance of the Black Sea grain deal?

In the morning of 1 August, the Sierra Leone-flagged cargo vessel Razoni departed the Ukrainian port of Odesa carrying 26,000 tonnes of corn to Tripoli, Lebanon.

It was the first grain to ship out of the port as a result of a deal agreed to by Russia and Ukraine on 22 July in Istanbul.
