From Kabul with hope: Noor’s journey from Afghanistan to Australia
As the plane moves closer to the earth, Noor Mohammad Ramazan sees the glistening blue, the “very green land”, the “very clear atmosphere”.
It’s a strange feeling arriving in Australia as an Afghan refugee.

Touching down in August in “this land of fairytales, this land of wishes and dreams”, 11,000 kilometres from a home you may never return to.
“But especially when … you’re not sure when you are going to see your family again.
Saying goodbye to mum,” he pauses.
