Twenty-three years ago, two Melbourne University medical students hiked the Annapurna trail in Nepal.

It was 10 days of grinding physical exercise as they traversed the top of the world. The trail ran through monkey and banana tree tangles, then rice fields, canyons and into the Himalayas.
