In tears, WHO chief blasts ‘lack of leadership and solidarity’ during pandemic

The World Health Organisation's top official has urged countries to "open up" to scrutiny during an impending international investigation into the deadly coronavirus pandemic to be headed by former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark.

Urging world leaders to take the review seriously and not allow its findings to “gather dust”, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wiped tears from his eyes as he blasted a “lack of leadership and solidarity” during the crisis.
