So-called ‘honour killing’ sparks outrage in Iran, President orders new bill to protect women

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has asked legislators to create a bill to prevent violence against women, after the death of a teenage girl in an alleged so-called honour killing sparked widespread anger.

Fourteen-year-old Romina Ashrafi fled from her home in the town of Talesh with a 29-year-old man after her father objected to their marriage.
