Melbourne dentist compels Google to identify online reviewer

Google will be compelled to hand over data to a Melbourne dentist to help identify the person behind a negative online review of his business, which allegedly damaged his practice and health, after a Federal Court ruling.

Matthew Kabbabe wants to identify the anonymous reviewer, who posted under the pseudonym “CBsm 23”, to pursue them for defamation.

In the online review, posted a few months ago, CBsm 23 claimed a procedure was not “done properly” at Dr Kabbabe’s Northcote dental clinic and was a “complete waste of time”.
