How benefits rules and family breakdown fuel youth homelessness

In 2017/18 alone, 103,000 people aged 16 to 24 presented themselves as homeless to their local authority in the UK.

But while preventative measures are being implemented to reduce this, a combination of factors that cause youth homelessness is still not being properly addressed: the relationship between poverty and family relationship breakdown – and the role of benefits.
