Queensland Government ‘defending racism’ in appeal against discrimination ruling
The Queensland Government is perpetuating racism and injustice in backing a court challenge against a landmark discrimination case, Indigenous health campaigner Professor Gracelyn Smallwood says.
The Federal Court ruled in December that police committed racial discrimination during the 2004 Palm Island riots following the death in custody of Aboriginal man Cameron Doomadgee.
