Riggs, Emma
Emma is a solicitor. She has studied Human Rights and International law in Europe and received a Law Foundation of SA scholarship to work in Accra (Ghana) in an access to justice program and criminal law. She has worked in a number of legal outreach organisations providing pro bono advice on industrial, property and debt recovery matters.
Emma enjoys working in industrial, discrimination, mental health, equal opportunity, corporate governance and general litigation. She has a particular interest in civil rights and the NGO sector and sits on a number of boards. Emma is the Secretary for the SA Council of Civil Liberties, Executive Member of RASSA and Director of ABM.
Emma has an Honours degree in Law and a Commerce degree and received the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with Merit from the Australian National University.
She has travelled and worked in a number of under developed countries and takes every opportunity to travel to South Sudan where she enjoys staying in Bor.
Emma speaks fluent English and understands German and Spanish.
